Celebrating Father's Day....

I was happy to return home on Sunday in time to celebrate Father's Day.  There were several Dad's to join in the celebration.  Our daughter's Katrina and Abbie prepared a scrumptious dinner, with Chad showing off his skills at the grill.

Bon Appetitt'!

I rejoice in the fact that Bruce is the father of our children......and I believe his children do too!  Our son Ben, was not with us last evening, however, he was celebrating in Ohio.  Bruce's dad, Chad's dad, and Bruce's cousin and his wife visiting from Oregon were also with us.

Here is Oliver, one of our grand dogs, patiently waiting for a treat.

My first stop on this trip was my visit to Grand Country Quilters in San Marcos, California.  If you've never visited this shop, you will want to not pass it by if you are visiting in the area.  I taught two classes, and a marvelous time.  You are spoiled when taking classes there.

This is an ongoing class being taught from Yoko Saito's book entitled Scrap Valley.  The pieces in this quilt are very small.  I would really like to make it some day.

The day before I taught we visited a group that stitches at Grand Country Quilters, each working on the project of their choice, endeavoring to complete UFO'S.  This is a sweet and special friend, Deedee.  I would love to stitch with her every week!

Isabelle Sterneman shared her finished At Home In the Garden.  Her work is absolutely wonderful.

This is a new house design by Kim Deihl.

The very best cheater quilt I've ever seen.

There is always an abundance of inspiration in the shop.

Here is Isabelle showing off her  Pine and Holly.

The top block is from Sweet and Simple being done with wool.  I would love to make a pineapple quilt which has been started in this sample.

What an adorable little quilt.

Pots of these beautiful succulents lined the walk way in front of the shop......stunning gorgeous!!

This wee delightful quilt was hanging from the checkout counter.
